Second meeting Prague Czech Republic from April 4 to April 11 2014

Film 3: Showcase video – introducing my city: Students were divided into 6 internationally mixed groups and were told to introduce Prague in a creative way. They had one week to do their shooting. As a setting for this film we chose the most visited places in Prague (Prague Castle, Kampa with Lennon wall, Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, or Vysehrad). Each team was creative in a different way. All is uploaded on our blog.
Photo workshop – students learnt some basic facts about photography techniques, film tricks, available programmes (Movie Maker, FX Guru, etc.)
Art workshop – as one of our project topics is “teenager’s life”, and teenagers like fashion, creating things, making presents for themselves and their friends, we prepared a FIMO workshop for them. They were divided into 3 internationally mixed groups and in this workshop, lead in English, they had to communicate to help each other to create something.
Drama workshop: The main goal of this interactive workshop was to prepare the students for their filming, to make them feel relaxed, to get rid of shyness and to learn to improvise quickly. First, there was a short breathing exercise. Then, students pantomimed such difficult things as a soap in a bath, chair in the theatre, a carpet, a sausage on a frying pan or a seed of a carnivorous plant. Then, the students got into small groups where they were rehearsing a short scene, an internationally well known fairy tale of their choice such as Cinderella, Sleeping beauty or Little Red Riding Hood. Our drama teacher did an excellent job and so did the students.
Dance workshop – Our teacher Jaroslav Novak taught us how to dance polka or walz, traditional classical dances that everybody in the Czech Republic should know. The students from other countries learnt something new about our culture and next time they come to the Czech Republic, they can make a good use of their dance lesson.
Excursion to Barrandov film studios: Our international group discovered the secret of costumes and props from famous films such as The Chronicles of Narnia, Tristan and Isolde, Edith Piaf, or Oliver Twist. Barrandov Studios has one of the largest and the most experienced Costumes & Props rental house in Europe. This excursion was quite interesting for the young film-makers of e-Motion Pictures.
